Centre for Experimental Methods and Behavioural Research
Welcome
The Centre for Experimental Methods and Behavioural Research (EMBR) is a community and platform for researchers who are interested in examining human behaviour and underlying decision processes.
Behavioural research is an umbrella term used to describe research in the social and behavioural sciences that deals with human behaviour in real-world settings. It aims to examine and understand individual and social behaviour through measurement and interpretation. The use of laboratory, field and survey experiments to understand human behaviour has grown into a respected and well-established methodology in many fields.
One of our top priorities is to establish connection and collaboration with other institutions, in the UK and worldwide. We aim to be a significant and constant behavioural research hub in the Northeast of the UK. The members of this group have a record of active international and national research networking.
We aim to promote interdisciplinary research within the University, as well as with external collaborators and partners. We welcome researchers interested in experimental methods and/or behavioural research to join us, regardless of their fields of specialisation and affiliations.
