students at college community events

Bookings for the Grey College Alumni Reunion weekend are now open. Join us in celebrating our 65th anniversary and 40 years of women at Grey. As well as revisiting old friendships and the traditional alumni dinner, there will be an afternoon tea for sharing archive material and interviews, celebrating Grey College then and now. We are looking forward to sharing the Grey Spirit with you!

Through our community events, student support, and our work to promote a culture of respect and belonging inclusion we create an environment where our can students thrive. Michaelmas term was a lively one - Students got their glad rags out for our Gaudy Formal, Black History Month Formal and for Diwali and Christmas, with enthusiastic support from the JCR.

Formal dining is a long-standing tradition at Grey, held in our beautiful refurbished dining hall. As they have done through our history, themed formals continue add a bit of fun, bring us together as an increasingly diverse community, and raise money for charity.

Gaudy Formal added a sparkle to October, where we encouraged students to bring their colours to Grey! We collaborated with the African and Caribbean society for Black History month, with great food, entertainment from the DU Gospel Choir and inspirational poetry. We celebrated Diwali with students making Diya lamps, and raising money for the Diwali Foundation and donating food to local food banks. The Bollywood Society gave us a dance demonstration and students did not hesitate to try it out themselves at the after dinner workshop! We rounded off the term with the Christmas formal and carol concert - so popular we might need to run it twice next year!
