Our BA Anthropology degree builds on a broad introduction to the subject before allowing students to focus on social anthropology.
Studying social anthropology allows you to develop an understanding of the variety of ways in which people around the world relate to each other, create meaning and organise cultural, political and economic life. Social anthropology is an extremely broad subject overlapping with many others including sociology, politics, history, economics and social geography.
Through engaging teaching, hands-on fieldwork and independent research, you'll develop highly valued skills in critical thinking, intercultural understanding and qualitative research methods. These skills prepare our graduates for careers across the public sector, consulting, international development, NGOs, healthcare and research.
You can also apply to add a placement year or a year abroad to your degree, increasing the course from three years to four and expanding your experience to complement your anthropological training.
