Tim O'Gorman

Tim O’Gorman attended St Chad’s College from 1985 to 1989. During his time at Durham, he played in the University first team at rugby, hockey and cricket. He played for British Universities at hockey and cricket and was awarded full Palatinates at both sports. He graduated with a BA in Law and since then has also completed a Masters in Sports Law.
He was a professional cricketer from 1987 to 1996 and following his retirement returned to Ashurst Morris Crisp to complete his Articles. After qualifying, he left private practice to set up the legal department at Carphone Warehouse shortly before the company was listed on the London Stock Exchange. Since then, he has held various roles in listed companies, and is currently the General Counsel and Company Secretary of Halfords Group Plc. He has served as Chair of the Professional Cricketers Association, and been a Director of Chance to Shine and a member of the MCC Committee.
He is currently Chair of the Cricket Discipline Commission and is also a Panel Member for Sports Resolutions. He has maintained regular links with Durham since graduating, through being a mentor to students and a contributor to the Durham Leadership programme.
