Submissions are now open!

Durham University’s School of Modern Languages and Cultures and The Centre for Foreign Language Study are delighted to launch the third edition of their creative writing contest in French on the theme of “la justice” in conjunction with Royal Holloway University and St Andrews University.

The contest is open to:

  • A Level and IB learners of French in the UK (CEFR B1-B2)
  • Specialist and non-specialist learners of French who are studying in a UK university. It is open to students at the following levels of the CEFR: elementary (A2), intermediate (B1-B2) and advanced (C1-C2).

Students are invited to submit a text in the genre of their choice (prose, drama, poetry, song, etc) by 05 May 2025. Entries should be up to 1500 words for C1+ levels; up to 1000 words for B1-B2 levels; and up to 500 words for the A2 level.
