In the latest 2027 UK league tables, we rank sixth across The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide, Guardian University Guide and Complete University Guide.  

We are also named UK University of the year North and North East England in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide.

In The Guardian University Guide 2027 we are sixth, with a total of 19 of our subjects in the top 5, up from 16 last year.  In The Guardian’s individual subject rankings, we rank first in the UK for Sports Science and Accounting; second for Biology, English, and Education; and third for Physics and International Relations. 

Our outstanding achievements across these national rankings reaffirm our position as one of the UK’s leading universities.
