The case for conceptual framing in the use of Generative AI solutions: an exploratory vision of country-wide energy flows
16 January 2025, 12-1pm, Zoom
Dr Jessica Symons, Director, Visioning Lab Ltd.
Ontology Maker is an AI-enabled process for defining multilingual glossaries, controlled vocabularies and ontologies for different sectors. It is designed to tackle miscommunication in projects and teams, particularly in cross-cultural contexts.
With the rapidly changing energy sector, Visioning Lab’s Ontology Maker has proved useful for identifying and clarifying energy terminology. However it has also identified a lack of sector-wide coherence about how energy moves through a country.
This talk will put forward a ‘Vision for mapping a country’s energy’ using an innovative conceptual framework that allows for all the different components of the energy infrastructure to knit together into a cohesive whole.
Please come and provide your insight to this developing model.
Jessica is interested in transformative practices and how emerging technologies impact on social and environmental dynamics.
She is an anthropologist and creative digital consultant with over 25 years experience across public, private and third sectors, as a researcher in the University of Manchester and as an IT consultant in large multinationals, SMEs and startups.
“Most of all, I like weaving together ideas, people, places, activities. Put me anywhere, community, project, city and I’ll find interesting people to do amazing things together”
Jessica speaks at conferences and public events in the UK and internationally on how to engage communities in understanding their creative potential and how to shape the development of emerging technologies for sustainable and social purposes.
