[07/24] Dr Hanna Ruszczyk spoke at the GLiTCH Project conference on migration confinement.
Dr Hanna Ruszczyk, Post Doctoral Research Associate at the Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience (IHRR) at Durham University attended the GLitCH end of project conference titled "Glitches of migration confinement: The digital disruptions of asylum borders, and humanitarianism".
GLiTCH (Governing Life through Technology, Connectivity and Humanitarianism) was a three year project exploring how financial and digital technologies are transforming the governance of refugees, asylum-seekers and migrants in Greece, Jordan Lebanon and the UK. This project was a collaboration with researchers from Durham University, Goldsmiths University of London, and Leeds University. The GLiTCH project was led by Dr Lauren Martin, from the Department of Geography at Durham University.
Dr Ruszczyk spoke on “Challenging crisis narratives: Polish Responses to Cross-border Mobilities”, on a panel titled "Shifting & Shrinking Space of Refugee Governance".
The conference was held in Bologna, Italy where co-investigator Dr Martina Tazzioli is now working.
