Biography
I am a PhD candidate in the Ethics of Mental Health at Durham University, approaching the field through a philosophical lens. My research focuses on the persistent stigmatisation of mental health, seeking to illuminate and challenge the underlying assumptions that perpetuate it.
My academic interests are deeply rooted in exploring complex intersections of identity, philosophy, and social issues. My undergraduate dissertation, 'The Intersectionality of the Republic,' examined how Plato's Republic engages with concepts of intersectionality. My master's dissertation, "I Refuse to be Defined by Something Invisible," delved into the philosophical work of Fakir Lalon Shah, using his insights to explore the intricate relationship between religion and identity within the Desi subcontinent.
Through my research, I aim to contribute to a more nuanced and compassionate understanding of mental health and its societal implications.
