In the first week of March, we will be commemorating Durham’s international reach and influence by coming together for Durham Global Week. As part of this celebration, alumni and friends around the world, united by shared experiences and memories of Durham, will get together to celebrate their connection with the University at social events hosted by alumni, for alumni.

"To Be Continued" is a documentary feature film that tells the story of Harry Odell, a Russian-Jewish impresario who founded the State Theatre in North Point in Hong Kong, brought The Beatles and Cliff Richard to the city, and left an indelible mark on the culture of his adopted home. The film also chronicles the grassroots conservation campaign to save the iconic theatre. Directed by the co-founders of Walk in Hong Kong, Dora Choi and Haider Kikabhoy, and co-produced by both Walk in Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Community Heritage Foundation, the film premiered at the Hong Kong International Film Festival in April 2023.

Please join the Durham University alumni chapter in Hong Kong for a special screening of the film and a post-screening Q&A session with the filmmaking team in our quest to engage with what truly defines Hong Kong and rediscover the city's very soul.

There will also be informal drinks after the screening, nearby in Kennedy Town.
