Durham alumni feature in The Celebrity Traitors
Two Durham graduates have taken part in the BBC’s The Celebrity Traitors, the latest instalment of the award-winning reality series filmed in the Scottish Highlands.
Nick Mohammed joins celebrity line-up
Comedian, writer and actor Nick Mohammed (Geophysics, St Aidan’s College) was among the contestants in the special edition of the programme, which sees him compete against the likes of Stephen Fry, Alan Carr and Clare Balding in a game of strategy, trust and deception.
Across the series, Nick showcased his problem-solving abilities through a range of collaborative and individual challenges, demonstrating composure and adaptability throughout the competition.
Nick is best known for creating and starring in the comedy series Intelligence, and for his role as Nathan Shelley in the Emmy Award–winning Ted Lasso. While at Durham, he was a member of the University Orchestra, where he met his wife, Becka, and took an active part in student performance.
Ed Gamble presents The Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked
Fellow alumnus Ed Gamble (Philosophy, Hatfield College) has also been part of the series, hosting the companion programme The Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked, which offers interviews with the cast and analysis following each episode.
Ed began performing comedy while studying at Durham, as part of the Durham Revue, and has since built a successful career as a stand-up, broadcaster and podcast host.
Alumni success across creative industries
Nick and Ed join a long list of Durham graduates who have gone on to make their mark in the creative industries, spanning television, film, media and the arts. Their participation in The Celebrity Traitors highlights the diverse career paths pursued by Durham alumni and the University’s strong representation across the entertainment sector.
