Housing Support

The most important thing you need to know about student housing in Durham is that there is support available to you throughout your student housing journey here in Durham.

Much of this support is provided directly by Durham University, or by Durham Students Union and you can find links to this on the Housing Hub homepage.

However, there are also many external housing support options, and information sources which it may be useful to know about.

We want you to be able to make an informed decision when you are thinking about your housing options. Our ‘Renting in the Private Sector’ student housing guide provides many signposts for different stages of a student housing journey - you can download the guide here.

In the guide we cover three aspects of getting started on your housing journey – affordability, location and housemates. We then look at three stages of a typical housing journey – searching for, securing and settling into your accommodation. There is also a section with useful links in a handy ‘fast access’ index.
