Universities provide valuable opportunities for individuals, both students and colleagues, to engage with difference. This includes engaging with people of differing faiths, beliefs, worldviews and cultures. A particular focus for this engagement is Interfaith Week held annually in mid-November. The Chaplains are committed to providing opportunities for individuals to engage with the ‘religious other’ in positive, enjoyable and transformative ways.
The Chaplaincy Network collaborates with the Durham Interfaith Student Network (DISN) in organising student-led events in Interfaith Week each year. DISN brings together representatives of various student faith societies as well as others such as the Council of Christians & Jews (CCJ) campus leaders. You can find out more by following DISN on Instagram (durham_interfaith).
