Durham University is one of the best choices in the United Kingdom for academic tennis players with a long-standing tradition of excellence in tennis. Durham's Men's first teams are top competitors in National Leagues and have often been known to reach the Championship Finals.
The club has 7 male and 6 female teams that compete in BUCS matches on a weekly basis throughout the season. The club also has a growing development squad and social tennis programme coached by some of our top postgraduate scholars, ranging from beginners to those just beneath University team level, which makes tennis a very accessible and inclusive sport to get involved in at Durham.
Tennis scholarships are available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Durham recruit new scholars to the club annually and highly encourage competitive players to consider applying.

Hitting sessions are held indoors, with a weekly track session available to all competitive team members and strength & conditioning sessions on offer for our performance athletes. Additionally, the club is extremely sociable and welcoming, with students often developing lifelong friendships.
The Club runs a weekly Development Squad at The Sport and Wellbeing Park for those wanting to get great coaching from our top players and improve whilst at Durham.
