Welcome to Durham Triathlon Club! Whether you’re a seasoned triathlete or looking to try something new, our club offers a supporting and welcoming environment for individuals of all fitness levels and abilities. DU Tri is home to some of Durham’s best endurance athletes and is one of Team Durham’s fastest growing clubs. We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive space where everyone, from beginners to experienced triathletes, can train and improve together.
Most athletes train towards the 3 BUCS events throughout the year, including the Duathlon in November, Sprint Triathlon in May and Olympic-distance Triathlon in June. Individuals may choose to enter many other events to work towards their goals, from duathlons to Ironmans to our yearly training camp in Mallorca.
Training Schedule
DU Tri offers 10 weekly sessions: 3 of each discipline and a coached strength and conditioning session. All sessions are written by our training captain and include beginner swimming and cycling sessions.
For those looking to push themselves further, our performance captain offers personalised training schedules and mentoring.

In a week there are 3 run sessions (easy run, long run, track run), 3 bike sessions (long ride, wattbikes, turbo), 3 swim sessions and a coached strength and condition session for members of the performance squad. All sessions are written by our training captain and other members of the executive team, all of whom have a high level of experience.
