Outreach

Our community extends beyond our beautiful campus near the River Wear. You’ll often find members of our staff travelling through the north-east and around the UK, delivering talks to students and community groups about issues that matter to them. We also want to hear from you, especially if you have an aspiring group of students who want to learn about how studying geography can open up the world to them in new and exciting ways.

When we can’t come to you, our data often can. We recognise that our world is increasingly driven by data and that making it open and sharing it is part of finding new and innovative solutions to complex challenges. Our response has been to incorporate principles of data sharing into our research strategy, and where possible to make data available freely through open-access arrangements.
