WEBINAR: Transparency and judicial review: a study of the duty of candour - report launch

Join us for the report launch of the Transparency and judicial review: an empirical study of the duty of candour, funded by the Nuffield Foundation.

Run by Dr Elizabeth O’Loughlin from Durham Law School, the project used a mixed methods approach to examine how the duty of candour – which governs the disclosure of information and documents in judicial review challenges – operates in practice. The operation of the duty of candour is vital to efficient and good administration of government policy and effective accountability through judicial review

The event – chaired by Catherine Haddon of the Institute for Government ­– will feature a showcase of the project findings from Dr O’Loughlin, and expert comments from Sir Jack Beatson and Dr John Sorabji. There will be time for an online interactive Q&A session.

The event will be of interest to public law practitioners, including government lawyers, judges, justice policymakers, and charities and NGOs engaged in public law litigation.
