We are delighted to share that Durham Law School has achieved exceptional results in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) 2025, with particularly high levels of student satisfaction across all areas of the survey.

This year’s survey results show an impressive overall satisfaction rate of 94.6%, continuing our upward trajectory and demonstrating our ongoing commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience.

The PTES is a national annual survey that captures the views of postgraduate taught students across the UK. It provides valuable insight into student’s experiences across a wide range of areas including teaching, engagement, assessment, resources, support and community.

Highlights from this year’s results include:

  • Teaching: 94% of students agreed that teaching staff are enthusiastic, explain concepts clearly, and that their course has been intellectually stimulating and enhanced their academic abilities.
  • Organisation: 96% agreed that their course was well organised, ran smoothly and that the guidance and support offered at the start of the course was excellent.
  • Skills Development: 96% felt their research skills developed through the course.
  • Learning Resources: 98% were satisfied with learning resources, highlighting the high quality of the online library, on-campus IT provision, and subject specific resources.
