One of the results of the CercleS survey (2021) “Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Language Teaching in Higher Education” was to generate a policy paper on, and then also put into practice, various forms of delivery of language teaching and learning in Higher Education in a post-pandemic world. COIL projects were suggested as one option for future language teaching in HE. COIL refers to Collaborative Online International Learning, which is collaborative learning and exchange between partners in different countries, and which happens online. In November 2023, CercleS hosted a webinar where participants (CercleS members) in three COIL projects presented and exchanged ideas about successful practices in international cooperation, which are in keeping with the premises of the CercleS Policy Paper. Format: We invite all persons interested in COIL projects to meet each other and find a partner. Just like in ‘romantic’ speed dating, we will facilitate a formalised matchmaking process with the purpose of encouraging interested managers and teachers to meet new potential COIL partners in a very short period, so that interested pairs can continue their collaboration after the event.
