Welcome to Elysium Garden at Palace Green

Visitors approaching Durham Cathedral will be greeted by riot of colour as Palace Green becomes a supersized forest of illuminated flowers created by artist Jig Cochrane and the team at Jigantics (UK).

Inspired by the gardens of Elysium, a mythical place in the afterlife reserved for heroes, Elysium Garden offers a window onto an otherworldly paradise. Shining through the cold November night, this uplifting sight is a promise of the spring that will surely come. Image credit: Jigantics (UK) and Rami Saarikorpi.
