Welcome to Prosper

Prosper is an innovative approach to postdoc career development that seeks to unlock postdocs’ potential to thrive across multiple career pathways – both within and beyond academia. Prosper’s goal is to open up the huge talent pool that exists within the postdoctoral research community, for the benefit of postdocs themselves, Principal Investigators, employers and the wider UK economy.

If you are a postdoctoral researcher or early career researcher at Durham University, you can engage with Prosper by:

Using the Prosper Portal for free. Registering on the Portal unlocks the Career Development Navigator, which empowers you to customise Prosper’s resources to align to your unique career situation.

Applying to join the Durham Prosper cohort. The Durham Prosper cohort will offer you a bespoke programme designed to support your career development. The cohort will run in the 2025/26 academic year, covering essential career development topics that will empower you to reflect, explore and act towards taking that next step in your career. Applications to join the cohort will open in June 2025.

Prosper was developed by the University of Liverpool, working alongside our partners at the University of Manchester and Lancaster University, and is funded by the Research England development fund.
