The IAS writing group is open to Durham academics and current IAS Fellows and IAS Associate Fellows who want to spend undisturbed time focusing on their papers, books, grants, talks, and other creative activities.

The group will meet every Friday of term in Hatfield College's SCR dining room starting 16 January 2026. For directions, report to the Porter's Lodge.
The format will alternate between working in silence and sociable breaks. The space will be held the whole day, but participants can leave at any point.
