About Us
CBS-REP is Durham University’s Centre for Behavioural Science Research, Education & Partnerships.
Mission & Scope
Our mission is to advance behavioural science and apply it to create positive change. Working with organisations and communities locally, nationally and internationally, we define challenges, co-design and test evidence-based interventions, and evaluate impact using rigorous scientific methods.
Ways We Work
Collaboration sits at the heart of our mission. We actively partner across the University and with external organisations and practitioners to maximise impact through:
- Research collaborations
- Policy and practice engagements
- Placements and dissertation projects for students
Training & Education is another core pillar of our work. Through capacity-building initiatives, short courses, and innovative teaching programmes, we equip students, professionals, and partners with the skills to apply behavioural and psychological insights in real-world settings.
Where We Work & With Whom
The North East is a priority region for impact, but our partnerships extend across the UK and internationally. We engage with:
- Local authorities, NHS partners, and public health bodies
- Central government departments and agencies
- Industry and professional bodies
- Third-sector and community organisations
- Research institutes and funders
Our People
CBS-REP brings together researchers, educators, practitioners, and external affiliates from across Durham University and beyond.
