The Sustainability Hub kicks off its speaker series on 19 March with a timely talk from Geoff Knight, Durham County Council’s Environment and Design Manager. Geoff will explore how councils make environmental decisions - and how those decisions can be skewed by vocal minorities whose views may not reflect the wider public.

Drawing on his experience overseeing ecology, woodland and forestry initiatives, the Durham Heritage Coast, and major landscape projects, Geoff will discuss how robust research can help reveal the ‘silent majority’s’ views and ensure they play a stronger role in shaping environmental policy.

Join us in the Psychology Department (Room L68) on March 19th, 1:00–2:00 pm for an inside look at how evidence can drive better environmental decision‑making.
