Our three student teams are selected to participate in the 2024 SUAD Youth COP Mock Negotiation.
The Centre for Sustainable Development Law and Policy (CSDLP) is proud to announce the acceptance of our three student teams for participation in the 2024 SUAD Youth COP. The Youth COP is a virtual mock negotiation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties (COP) organized by Université Paris Cité (France), Universidade Federal do Ceará (Brazil) and Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).
The Youth COP provides an opportunity for students across the globe to experience climate negotiations through a simulation of the UNFCCC COP whilst fostering their critical thinking and interpersonal skills. The outcome document developed by the competitors of the Youth COP will be presented at COP29 this year in Baku (Azerbaijan).
Our three teams consist of interdisciplinary and inter-university undergraduate and postgraduate students who have been chosen for this international competition due to their dedication and commitment to the fields of climate change, sustainability, biodiversity, renewable energy, and just transitions. We recognise SAUD Youth COP as a platform to prepare the next generation and empower future leaders to tackle climate change.
We congratulate and thank the SUAD Youth COP Organising Committee for marshalling this wonderful competition and we look forward to seeing the productive outcomes of this engagement.
