Kenya and Uganda Start Demarcating Boundary

Kenya has started the demarcation of its boundary with Uganda. The Kenya-Uganda border runs from Lake Victoria, to the mouth of the Sio River in Busia, and on to Amudat and Moroto in Karamoja though the Turkana Escarpment to Mt. Zulia near the Kenya-Uganda -South Sudan tri-junction.

Fourth Annual IBRU Milefsky Award Honours Friends for Conservation and Development and Asociación Balam

IBRU, Durham University’s Centre for Borders Research, has awarded its fourth annual Raymond Milefsky Award to a pair of non-governmental organisations devoted to conservation and development across disputed Belizean-Guatemalan borderlands. The award is being made to the Belizean non-governmental organisation Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) and its Guatemalan counterpart Asociación Balam.

ICJ Rules on Kenya Somalia Maritime Dispute

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ruled on the ongoing maritime dispute between Kenya and Somalia. The ruling was generally seen to be in favour of Somalia, with a new boundary line drawn by the ICJ closer to the Somalian claim, attributing to Somalia several offshore oil blocks claimed by Kenya.
