A number of train operators offer direct and regular routes to Durham Railway Station, including from London (Kings Cross), Newcastle, and Edinburgh. Durham is around 3 hours from London, just over 3 hours from Birmingham, 2½ hours from Manchester, and 1½ hours from Edinburgh.
A taxi will take you from the station to any hotel in about 5 to 10 minutes and you can walk to the city centre in 10 minutes.
Durham is 30 minutes' drive from Newcastle International Airport and about 40 minutes from Teesside International Airport. Both have regular domestic and international flights.
We have pre-booked single ensuite rooms at Grey College, which is only 5 minutes walk from the venue. This is purpose built conference accommodation that is used as student residences during term. Rooms are £60 per night, including breakfast. If you wish to take advantage of this arrangement, you should book the room as part of the conference registration process.
There are also several city hotels that would be a 20 to 30 minute walk. For any of these, please book directly with the hotel.
