ECR Network Funding Opportunity
The Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing is now offering funding to help our ECR Network nurture and develop the research relationships and ideas that arise from our workshops and activities.
We welcome bids to cover the costs and other practicalities for small-scale focus groups, information-sharing events, and other such relationship-building activities.
These activities could reach out to more of our colleagues here at Durham to attract and engage with people from different disciplines and faculties. We could also reach out to academics and professional staff from other universities, as well as partners from the North-East and beyond. We’re looking at community organisations, charities, businesses, NHS Trusts, and local or regional government groups as potential collaborators. It’s all about bringing together a diverse network to create something special!
Applications will be reviewed by 3 members of the Institute Directorate, and will be scored on the basis of interdisciplinarity, ambition, feasibility, value for money and contribution to the wider WRIHW strategic aims and goals. All awards will be made in accordance with University policies.
Funding can be used for
Travel, accommodation and subsistence (in line with Durham University policies)
Catering (in line with Durham University policies)
Exceptional items
Room hire
Note:
University policy stipulates that all meetings must be held within the university footprint wherever possible, however as an Institute we understand that some communities require a flexible location in order to increase engagement due to EDI. We will consider these cases within the context of the application.
Ineligible costs
Salary support or staff costs
Teaching buy-out
Computers, equipment or software
All activities need to have taken place by the end of July 2025
.
Funding is only available to members of the Wolfson ECR Network: if you aren't a member, you can
register here.
