Biography

I am currently doing a research masters here at Durham focusing on AniA, a copper containing nitrite reductase found in Neisseria gonorrhoeae. I did my undergraduate degree at the university of Leeds in Biochemistry with a year in industry. During my year in industry I worked in the process development of gene therapies at the CDMO Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, specifically working with different serotypes of adeno-associated virus. For my undergraduate project I focused on the ribosomal protein RPL22 and its paralogue RPL22-like in Drosophila germ cells, assessing whether these heterogenous ribosomes produced different translational preferences.
