Biography

I am a first-generation university graduate and currently Professor of Behavioral Science at Durham University, a position I have held since 2021. I joined Durham in 2018 as Associate Professor of Quantitative Social Psychology. Prior to this, I served as Lecturer and later Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Kent. My academic journey has also included a postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), during which I spent time at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Research Interests
  • Power dynamics: Exploring different forms of power, including dominance, prestige, autonomy, socio-economic status, social class, and power distance.

  • Socio-economic inequalities: Investigating inequalities and their consequences for wellbeing and performance.

  • Social cognition: Examining the intersection of social and cognitive psychology, focusing on heuristics and biases, self-regulation, and mind-body interactions.

  • Behaviour change: Designing and evaluating interventions to encourage sustainable behaviours.

  • Applied behavioural science: Studying organisational behaviour and applying behavioural insights to address real-world challenges.
