Biography

Yiwen is a doctoral student at School of Education, specialising in student metacognition. After graduating from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology with a degree in English, Yiwen devoted herself in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) education in China and Australia. Passionate about teaching, Yiwen integrated research-based methods into practices, focusing on developing learner autonomy and promoting learning efficiency.

Yiwen was a master student in Education at Durham University and graduated with distinction. Now her research aims to identify patterns of intra-individual changes in metacognition and to highlight the importance of real-time feedback in Second Language Acquisition to potentially inform pedagogical strategies and assessment policies.
