Part Time Student Employment

Durham University students are often keen to secure local part time work with a range of different employers whilst they undertake their studies, for a number of reasons:

  • To provide additional income to support them financially as costs for students continue to rise.
  • To develop their employability skills and gain essential work experience.
  • To use their flexibility to undertake paid work.

Why advertise with us?

  • There is no cost for local employers to advertise vacancies.
  • The service is quick and simple to use making it easy to recruit as the need arises.
  • Vacancies are promoted to all students and recent graduates through our dedicated Vacancy Advertising Portal and weekly alerts to students.
  • Through advertising your vacancies you are also raising your organisation's profile amongst our students.

Adding/Managing your Vacancy

The easiest way to promote your opportunities to Durham University students  is through our online Vacancy Advertising Portal, which can be viewed by all our current students and many of our recent graduates. This self-service system is free, allowing you to oversee and manage your own recruitment.

To begin, register your organisation or log in to an existing account. If you're unsure if your organisation is already registered, please either re-register and we can merge the accounts or email us at careers@durham.ac.uk.

By registering on the Vacancy Advertising Portal, you will be able to:

  • Upload and manage your organisation's profile and display the logo
  • Directly submit opportunities, including part time roles, graduate vacancies, internships, and placement years
  • Manage organisation contacts online
  • Manage expiration dates and remove filled vacancies
