Congratulations to all our offer holders!

As an offer holder, we want you to fully explore your offer before deciding on whether to firm with Durham, so we are planning to provide you with plenty of opportunities to join us in a Post-offer Visit Day on campus.  On-campus events are scheduled over a couple of months before your decision deadline (usually March and April) and will provide the opportunity to explore our colleges and your degree in more depth.

Post-offer Visit Days are not just a chance to find out more about the course you have holding an offer with but an exciting opportunity to explore the social side of being a Durham University student. This is achieved through time spent within colleges, opportunities to speak with current students and through sessions led by Experience Durham and our professional support services.  Use the Visit Day to explore all your options and to find out what the ‘Durham Difference’ is all about. We'll be confirming our dates shortly. So keep checking your emails, as we will contact offer holders to invite you to the visit days once the booking form opens in January - we look forward to welcoming you to Durham very soon!

How do I book?

Offer holders will receive an invitation to book a place once an offer has been made and the event is open for bookings in January. The invitation will include details of the dates and times of the events.

Joint Honours/ Multiple offer holders You’ll have the opportunity to take part in an academic session in the morning and another in the afternoon for each of your chosen subjects. You’re welcome to attend just one, but if you’d like to experience different aspects of your degree, you can join both sessions to get a fuller insight into what studying your subject at university is really like.

Combined Honours/ Liberal Arts For Combined Honours and Liberal Arts students, you only need to attend one session - either morning or afternoon. The academic team has designed each session to provide a full overview of the degree, along with short taster activities covering the range of subjects available within the programme.

Natural Sciences For Natural Sciences, we recommend attending the morning overview session followed by a 1‑hour taster in a subject of your choice. In the afternoon, you then have the option to take part in up to two additional 1‑hour taster sessions if you would like to explore more subjects.

Foundation Centre offer holders Foundation Centre offer-holders should book to attend their ‘year 1’ subject as their Academic Experience.

Undergraduate Event Bursary

We offer an Event Bursary to support eligible attendees with the costs of travelling and accommodation to attend our Post-offer Visit Days. The bursary is designed to help ensure that all prospective students can experience Durham first-hand, regardless of financial circumstances. Details on eligibility and how to apply are provided as part of the event information upon booking.

Please note that the Post-offer Visit Days are for offer holders only.
