Discover Durham School Campus Visits

Bring your students to Durham to gain an insight into student life and higher education.

Our Discover Durham visits are designed for students from schools and colleges in Years 10 to 13. We welcome group sizes of 20-60 students with accompanying teachers and/or school support staff.

Each visit slot is two hours and includes:

  • A warm welcome and introduction to Durham University
  • An information, advice & guidance (IAG) session delivered by staff on a topic such as choosing a course and university, why Durham, applying to university and personal statements.
  • An outdoor walking campus tour led by our friendly student ambassadors. This gives students the opportunity to ask questions and hear personal experiences of student life.

Durham University is committed to widening access to higher education and ensuring our outreach benefits those who need it most. While we strive to accommodate all schools, places for Discover Durham School Visits are limited. We therefore prioritise requests from eligible schools, guided by criteria aligned with our widening participation goals, to ensure our support has the greatest impact.
