HE Teachers and Advisers Conference - Tuesday 25 March 2025 

Our conference will run from 9.45am till 4.15pm, with an optional tour from 8.45am.  

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.  

 

Sessions will include: 

  • Jon Batty, Deputy Academic Registrar, Access, Recruitment and Admissions. Discussing Durham's commitments to Widening Participation and Access 
  • Richard Emborg, Director of Recruitment and Admissions. Reflecting on the 2023-24 admissions cycle and discussing what to expect in 2024-25 
  • An overview of Access Programmes and Contextual Offers at Durham 
  • CPD session ran by our School of Education  
  • Student-led session on Durham Colleges and the Student Experience 
  • Staff from Admissions will discuss the reference and personal statement reforms and offer advice on how to best support students applying to high tariff institutions.

We can offer accommodation free of charge for anyone wishing to stay in Durham the night before. Accommodation will be single en-suite, including breakfast.  

 

For anyone staying the night before, parking is available at Collingwood College, on a first come first served basis. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a space and cannot offer parking for those attending for the day. Information on parking in Durham can be found here: https://www.durham.gov.uk/durhamcitycarparks. For those coming for the day we would advise using the Howlands Park and Ride, where you must buy a ticket and use the bus.
