Ustinov College hosts alumni event in London
On Friday 1 May, Ustinov College held a collaborative event at Queen’s Tennis Club in London. Attended by Alumni, Global Citizenship Programme (GCP) scholars, Graduate Common Room (GCR) representatives and College staff, the event aimed to reconnect participants, reflect on shared experiences and strengthen links across the Ustinov community.
An evening of collaboration, community and connection
Alumni joined current students and College leadership, creating an intergenerational setting that reflected the College’s postgraduate network.
Head of College Glenn McGregor opened the event. He highlighted the importance of maintaining alumni connections and the role alumni play in supporting the College. A panel discussion followed, featuring GCP scholars and GCR members. They spoke about their time at Ustinov, their career paths and the longer-term impact of their studies. The discussion included interest in continued engagement and mentoring.
Looking ahead
Incoming Interim Principal and Head of College Sophie Holland set out her priorities. These include support for international and first-generation students, wider opportunities for scholars from the North of England, and stronger community links. She said the event marked the start of further alumni engagement activity.
The event focused on themes of global connection, inclusion and ongoing engagement. Activity on communications channels, including LinkedIn, extended its reach. Attendees are invited to join the Ustinov alumni LinkedIn group.
The evening aimed to strengthen alumni relationships and highlight the continuing role of the Ustinov community.
