Abstract: In response to global challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and social inequality, supply chains are increasingly adopting sustainable practices to reduce carbon footprints, conserve resources, and promote social equity. However, implementing these practices presents significant challenges, including ensuring compliance with sustainability standards across multiple tiers, incentivizing long-term adherence, and integrating innovative technologies. These initiatives necessitate collaboration among suppliers, customers, NGOs, and governments. This presentation will review several analytical modeling projects, joint with various co-authors, that explore effective strategies for managing compliance, fostering voluntary practices and sustained partnerships, and facilitating technology adoption in supply chains. This review seeks to inspire continued research to deepen the collective understanding of strategic sustainability in supply chains.
