Durham University spinout Mind Your Business has partnered with Danish Entrepreneurs to deliver a nationwide mental health and business development programme across Denmark.
Mind Your Business, a Durham-based enterprise, transforms business support by placing entrepreneurs’ mental health and self-worth at the centre of business development. Informed by research from Durham University Business School, the programme helps founders manage the psychological pressures of entrepreneurship and align their work with personal wellbeing.
The two-year initiative, Healthy Capital, is supported by the Velliv Foundation and will bring Mind Your Business’s award-winning training to over 2,000 entrepreneurs across Denmark.
The project includes a certification scheme for 14 Danish mentors, who will go on to support hundreds of self-employed individuals. The collaboration will include workshops, bootcamps, digital resources, and in-person training events in both Denmark and the UK.
Professor Pablo Muñoz, Co-Founder of Mind Your Business and Co-Director of the Durham Enterprise Centre said:
“This partnership marks a major step forward in rethinking how we support entrepreneurs. By acknowledging that business development and mental health are deeply intertwined, Healthy Capital aims to build a new standard for entrepreneurial support that prioritises both personal and business development.”
The Durham spin-out is commitment to destigmatising mental health among the self-employed, while helping them manage purpose, autonomy and achievement under pressure.
Chair of Danish Entrepreneurs, Peter Kofler, said:
“We are excited to bring Mind Your Business to Denmark. Entrepreneurs face tremendous stress and pressure, and this programme brings much-needed, research-based tools to help them thrive - not just commercially, but personally.”
Mind Your Business won the 2023 Best Paper Award for Excellence in Research on Entrepreneurship from the US National Federation of Independent Business. It has also been shortlisted for the 2025 Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the “Early Stage Stand Out Award” category for the North East, Yorkshire and The Humber. Winners will be announced in November.
