The School's stellar reputation and unique curriculum intrigued me, but the programme bringing learning to life really stood out. One such highlight was the International Field trip to San Francisco. I learned about global business practices and met with industry experts, experiencing the pulse of Silicon Valley first hand. The goal wasn't just acquiring knowledge—it was about growing into a global analytics professional ready to take on the challenges of a complex data-driven world.

The overall experience at Durham University was great. If I were to rate my most successful project, I would say the Business Analytics project was the best, because it was a great opportunity to get to know the world outside of academia. It allowed me to apply what I had learned to reality. Most importantly, due to the solid and supportive relationship between Durham University and the company, I was ultimately able to complete my project, which impressed the company so much that they offered me a satisfying job.

The programme equipped me with cutting-edge data science techniques, particularly in machine learning and natural language processing, which helped me stand out and develop advanced analytical capabilities. While my background in statistics gave me a foundation, the programme's unique blend of computing, statistics, and business-focused modules broadened my perspective and provided valuable insights into the real-world needs of businesses. The most memorable part was my dissertation project, where I trained a large language model to predict medical diagnoses based on textual medical records. This research was both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Throughout my Masters degree, I cherished the chance to interact with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering lasting friendships and expanding my global perspective.

Having had the privilege to spend the last one year at Durham, I can safely say that if I could go back, I would choose Durham again and again. In terms of my future plans, I have been lucky enough to be offered a role as a Consultant in London and see myself working here for the foreseeable future. Once again, the career support provided by the Business School Career’s team was key in me landing the role.
