Collingwood’s Ava Wadsworth shines at Junior Hockey World Cup
Ava was named player of the match in the final as Scotland U21 win Challenger Cup at Junior Hockey World Cup in Chile
Collingwood is delighted to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Ava Wadsworth and the Scotland U21 Hockey team.
Ava recently travelled to Chile to compete in the Junior Hockey World Cup, representing Scotland on the international stage. It was a milestone tournament for Scottish hockey, marking the nation’s first-ever qualification for the Junior World Cup. After an intense series of matches, Scotland went on to win the Challenger Cup, with Ava earning the title of Player of the Match in the final.
Speaking about the experience, Ava described the moment she stepped out in the Scotland kit, sang the anthem, and played in a tournament the team had never before reached as a defining point in her sporting journey.
Thanks to support from Collingwood's Student Opportunities Fund, Ava was able to fully focus on performing and developing at the highest junior level.
Aime le Meilleur. Collingwood could not be prouder of her success.
