Professor Tammi Walker

Principal of St Cuthbert's Society and Professor of Forensic Psychology

Tammi Walker became Principal of St Cuthbert’s Society and Professor of Forensic Psychology in the Psychology Department at Durham in September 2021. Tammi has overall responsibility for the direction, leadership and management of the college. She works directly with the other college officers and staff, student leaders of the Junior Common Room, faculty and staff of the Senior Common Room and alumni and friends to ensure an outstanding student experience.

Tammi is a Chartered Psychologist and Fellow of the British Psychological Society, Registered Senior Fellow with Advance HE and a mental health nurse by clinical background. Her research interests include forensic psychology and psychiatry, and she has contributed extensively to the development and delivery of interventions with imprisoned women. She is passionate about working with marginalised groups who experience severe health inequalities, and she has considerable expertise in the areas of suicide, self-harm, mental health and sexual violence. She is currently the Principal Investigator on several research grants conducting quantitative and qualitative research throughout the UK.

Dr Jon Warren,

Vice-Principal of St Cuthbert's Society

Jon Warren is a Social Scientist. His research interests are focused on de-industrialisation and how its effects have manifested themselves in the lives and experiences of those living in areas like the North East of England. As Vice-Principal Jon has a wide remit. This involves enhancing intellectual curiosity within the student body, ensuring students have opportunities for personal development, liaison with academic departments and outreach to the local community.                                           

Mrs Annie Robinson,

Annie has worked at the University since 2011. She started in the Business School then moved to Stephenson College (originally based at Queen’s Campus) in 2015 and took up the role of Student Support Officer. Annie worked at Stephenson College until April 2023, when she joined the Faculty of Arts and Humanities as a Student Support Officer.

She is thrilled to have joined the St Cuthbert’s Society team as Assistant Principal, covering Lydia’s maternity leave and taking the lead on Student Support. In her spare time she volunteers for Darlington Assistance for Refugees and sits on the Independent Appeals Panel for School Admissions and Exclusions in the Borough of Darlington. She enjoys gardening (with a mission to make her garden as wildlife friendly as possible), cooking, baking and running.
