Fees and Funding

Information about the costs of accommodation and catering options is available on the central Undergraduate Residence Charges pages.

The only additional charge that applies to all members of the society is a levy for membership of the JCR. This, again, is payable once (at the start of your Durham studies) and is currently £172.50 for undergraduates and £57.50 for postgraduates.

Over 98% of students who are in St Cuthbert's Society are members of the JCR, which is a 1500 strong student body. Everything that the JCR offers is only available to its members, those that pay this one-off fee.

It is important to point out that you need to opt-in to pay Common Room membership and other charges. If you choose not to opt-in, some services and facilities provided by the JCR will not be available to you and you will not be able to participate in Common Room elections.

St Cuthbert's Society can offer some additional financial support to undergraduate and postgraduate students and to societies to help them progress their personal and professional development. We have established a number of grant and award schemes that can be applied to by current students, for support towards various types of activity.
