Our Accommodation
St Hild and St Bede is currently located at Rushford Court, North Road on a self-catered basis for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.
This purpose-built student accommodation, within walking distance of the city centre, provides students with en-suite rooms on a self-catered basis. A range of college facilities includes a bar, common room, gym, and various study spaces. Rooms are all en-suite, most are configured around shared kitchens as small flats. We also have a limited number of studios available.
Work began in our new location in August 2023, which we saw the restored Victorian hospital of Rushford Court being upgraded to provide student and staff facilities including College staff offices, welfare, and study spaces. The new College Heart building houses common rooms, study areas, and a bar in addition to the facilities already on offer at the 358 room property.
About Rushford Court
Rushford Court first opened as County Hospital in 1853, closing in 2010. Unite Students opened it as student accommodation in 2018. It was previously used as the temporary home for the University’s John Snow College during the 2019-2020 academic year, while the University’s Mount Oswald development was completed, comprising both John Snow and South Colleges.
