Art, Music and Drama

We have three music practice rooms and other spaces in College, such as the JCR, which can be used for drama rehearsals and for our talented artists to prepare decorations for College events. We have a Steinway baby grand piano in Kenworthy Hall which is available to use.

We have a designated Arts and Crafts room in Fergusson which is used regularly by several St Mary’s societies. These groups often work collaboratively with local artists – such as with our Artist in Residence for 2025, Jane Kitching, to put on workshops for students.

Our College theatre company, Foot of the Hill, stage a variety of productions each year, including a pantomime, a musical and outdoor Shakespeare in the summer. In 2024, members of the company wrote and starred in a sell out show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
