Matthew Bevis's books include The Art of Eloquence (2007), Comedy: A Very Short Introduction (2012), and Wordsworth’s Fun (2019). His recent essays have appeared in The London Review of Books, Harper’s, The New York Review of Books, Raritan, and Poetry. He’s currently completing Knowing Edward Lear for Oxford University Press and curating an exhibition on Lear’s sketches and drawings at the IKON Gallery.
