Gordon Corera in discussion with Gill Bennet explore the legacy of the Cambridge Spies, 75 years on, as part of a programme of activities associated with the AHRC project, The Afterlife of the Cambridge Spies, led by Prof James Smith (Durham) and Prof Michael Goodman (KCL).
75 years after the disappearance of two of the 'Cambridge Spies', Guy Burgess and Donald Maclean, Gordon Corera (author and journalist) and Gill Bennett (historian) investigate the legacy of these spies. They will question what their motivations were, the impact on government and intelligence services, and how they changed perceptions of loyalty, security, and espionage across modern British society and culture.
The event will take place both in-person at The National Archives, Kew and online via Zoom.
