Professor Thom Brooks becomes elected member of the Academia Europaea

Professor Thom Brooks has been invited to become an elected member of the Academia Europaea (Academy of Europe), a pan-European Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Letters founded in 1988.
Academia Europaea's members include 72 Nobel Laureates. Professer Brooks has been elected in the area of Social Thought. Only one other staff member - Professor Nancy Cartwright in Philosophy - is a current member. Past Durham staff members of the Academia Europaea include former Vice-Chancellor Sir Arnold Wolfendale and former Deputy Vice-Chancellor Ray Hudson.
