Durham University will be hosting an official UNFCCC Side Event at COP30, in Belém, Brazil. We are proud to continue our tradition of hosting events at conferences of the parties (COPs), and we are committed to maintaining active engagment with the UNFCCC processes as an observer NGO.

Co-hosted by CARE International, this side event will allow us to share our research work on the latest round of nationally determined contributions (NDCs) under our project ELEVATE-ProClima (Enhance and Leverage the Architecture on Evidence for Climate Protection). The project is funded by the British Academy's Evidence-informed Policymaking Grants 2025 Awards. It is a timely and significant project investigating how targeted interventions can turn the tide of climate negotiations. This incredible opportunity will allow us to work and engage with global leaders, experts, and changemakers who are working towards a more sustainable future.

This event will be live-streamed from COP30 and will be open to view for staff and students from all departments and disciplines.

Please join us at PCL048 (Hogen Lovels Lecture Theatre) at 18:00 on Friday, the 14th of November.
