Described as 'a gamechanger' by Gramophone Magazine, Sam Cave is one of the guitar's leading new music specialists. In this programme he explores fantasias by Eric Egan and Michael Finnissy alongside the music that inspired them in works by Alonso Mudarra. The second half of the evening presents beguiling musical landscapes ranging from the gentle undulations of Lisa Illean's Tiding (2021) to the galactic sound-plasma of Radulescu's Subconscious Wave (1984).
