This talk is part of the Department of Psychology seminar series.
Laboratory-based behavioural theories often struggle to survive the messy reality of commercial and policy settings. This lecture addresses the friction between controlled academic experiments and scalable, real-world application. By examining how human decision-making shifts outside controlled environments, the discussion highlights the core barriers to successful behavioural intervention. It provides practical frameworks for translating theoretical insights into measurable, ethical interventions within business strategies and public policy. Attendees gain a roadmap for applying rigorous behavioural principles to real-world context, moving from academic theory to impactful, sustained behaviour change across complex organisational environments.
